CMAQ Grant: Smart Moves
Continued work on Smart Moves Along Colorado Boulevard project in the Colorado Boulevard corridor to reduce traffic gridlock by encouraging the adoption of transit, cycling, ridesharing and other "clean commute" modes.
Working with 5 different office towers/businesses/organizations; messaging to more than 2,500 local commuters
Registered more than 171 individual participants. Participants reported 20,000 clean trips and a reduction of 239,500 Vehicle Miles Traveled.
The Road Ahead
Partnered with regional stakeholders and the Denver Living Streets Initiative to host the fifth annual event, featuring how Living Streets concepts can contribute to local economic development
Attracted over 100 attendees, including elected officials, local government staff, business representatives and transportation stakeholders
Bike to Work Day
Hosted one of the area's largest and most successful Bike to Work Day events - The Bike Rack's Breakfast Station Block Party
Hosted a breakfast station at the University of Denver, offering breakfast and bicycle registration assistance in partnership with Campus Safety
Nearly 500 cyclists participated in the two events
Obtained donated services and food items from more than 10 local business partners and totaling over $3,000

Collected used bicycles from children in need through the annual Share a Cycle program with Campus Cycles; partnered with Denver Kids, Inc and the Denver Department of Human Services to distribute bikes.
Completed third full year of facilitation of the Transportation Solutions Community Council, a coalition of representatives from the neighborhoods in our service area
Worked with the City of Denver and other stakeholders to preserve initial funding and plans for a bicycle/pedestrian bridge over I-25 at Colorado Center
